My role was to design an entire Gopro specific bag line from scratch while collaborating in house with the VP of Design, CEO, product management, suppliers and vendors. Each pack is designed with carefully considered ergonomic features and is tailored to meet your specific camera set up needs. Introducing the highly-functional and durable bag and pack line from gopro, released in 2020. The collection includes the daytripper, sling cross body bag, weekender backpack, storm dry waterproof backpack, stash rolltop backpack, mission backpack duffel bag, casey semi hard camera case, and casey lite.

Designing a pack line from scratch

Our team goal was to craft a cohesive looking and highly functional pack & back pack line that resonates deeply with GoPro's brand values. I led the design process, effectively communicating and executing design decisions to drive project success.

Vision

My role was to collaborate with cross functional team leaders to create the vision of GoPro's new pack line.

Inspiration

Collecting inspirational imagery, sourcing materials, experimenting with construction techniques, sketching concepts, and diving into use case scenarios.

Definition

Evolving concept ideas through a hands-on, research-driven approach.

Creating CMF options for the weekender.

Hardware

Creating options for bag appropriate zipper pulls and other hardware elements.

From CAD to production

Utilizing 3d printing methods

And getting a feel for size, grip and overall look.

Hand in hand with external vendors I was responsible to present viable material options to the team and select on brand materials for all packs.

Driving manufacturing & targeted cost

The samples gave me and the team the opportunity to test each pack rigorously and implement improvements.
